Shelly has been active in many local community organizations:

Shelly Dreyer is a widely respected attorney and  proud mom with a lifetime of experience fighting for Missouri families. A seventh-generation Missourian, through her experience as a municipal judge and attorney, she has consistently represented families in their time of need. She has distinguished her as a fair and conservative-minded leader with a deep knowledge of the law and a passion for improving her community!

Shelly was born and raised in Southwest Missouri to parents who grew up in the Depression era. They taught Shelly the value of the dollar and instilled the importance of hard work. Shelly wants to take those values to Jefferson City! She wants to make sure government lives within its means and to prevent large debts from being created and left for our children to pay.

Shelly graduated from Missouri State University and earned her law degree from the University of Missouri. Shelly initially practiced law in the St. Charles area and became a small business owner at the age of 30, as a partner in her law firm. Her work on behalf of Missouri families has earned her a place in the prestigious American Association for Justice. She was named in 2006 as an "Up and Coming Lawyer" by Missouri Lawyers Weekly for her commitment to justice for all Missourians. She now works at the Hershewe Law Firm in Joplin.

Shelly and her husband Mark, came home to Southwest Missouri to start their family. They wanted to be near family and friends and raise their family in the Joplin community, where traditional family values are still so important. Shelly and Mark, a videographer and native Missourian as well, have been married for seven years. They recently adopted their first child, daughter Marley. Marley was adopted from a teenage mother who chose life over abortion. Shelly wants to make sure more expectant mothers know the alternatives to abortion.

Shelly is active in serving the Joplin community through many organizations. She and her family attend Calvary Church in Joplin. In her spare time she enjoys; running, reading, boating, plus spemding time with her family and their beloved cat Chloe.
